PNF is based on neurophysiological mechanisms of muscle contraction and stretch reflexes. This is the reason PNF is more effective than simple passive stretching.
Learn Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation stretching and use it as your self-care and even better, recommend it for your clients for postural conditions, after injury, during recovery after MVA or just give it to clients who need relaxation. Massage treatment effects last longer if PNF stretching is incorporated in treatment and also if perfect self-stretching and strengthening exercises are provided to the client. Improve muscle elasticity and flexibility and prepare clients for work or workout without pain and stiffness.
Massage therapy is not only “massaging” the body, these days we have to be innovative and open for remedies that are proven to help and are under massage therapy scope of practice. Also, performing PNF stretching makes your job easier and saves your hands.
Does it happen to you that you want to recommend some stretching or strengthening exercises but you can’t recall specific one for specific muscles? This is a course where we will review muscles origin, insertion and action. We will also be learning/reviewing proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation, self-stretching and strengthening exercises for almost all upper body muscles.
